Encouraging Energy Efficiency through the BetterBuildings Program
Ross & Associates is providing facilitation, program development, and grantee network building support to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s BetterBuildings program. Ross & Associates facilitated the first two workshops of Energy Efficiency Community Development Block Grant Retrofit Ramp-Up recipients in July and September 2010, and is working with DOE to develop and execute strategic approaches to foster on-going information sharing, rapid learning, and collaborative tool development involving grantees. A key aspect of information sharing and tool development is focused on performance measurement, reporting, and evaluation to track and assess project outcomes both individually and for the program as a whole. Other information sharing and tool development focuses on topics including marketing and outreach, financing, and workforce development. Collaborative efforts are also addressing diverse target audiences for energy efficiency retrofits, including residential, multi-family residential, commercial, government, and historic building properties. Ross & Associates will support a series of four DOE workshops during the first year of the grantees’ projects. The company will also design and facilitate several grantee working groups on specific energy efficiency program design topics through webinars, conference calls, and information sharing networks.
