Ross & Associates combines strong writing and editing skills with a firm understanding of effective graphic design and layout principles to support our clients in developing printed publications. We handle all aspects of product development, from creation of charts and graphs, to layout, to working with press operators to ensure successful printing. The firm also develops branding materials for agencies, public processes, and initiatives looking to build or refine a visual identity through logos, presentations, brochures, mailings, posters, and banners. We have experience developing documents and reports for a range of audiences, from political (e.g., Congress) to scientific (e.g., EPA).

Lean in Government Starter Kit

Lean in Government Starter Kit Version 3

Drawing from the experiences of several state and federal agencies, Ross & Associates helped EPA develop the Lean in Government Starter Kit: How to Plan and Implement Successful Lean Initiatives at Environment Agencies, Version 3.0. The Starter Kit is designed to help government agencies plan and implement successful Lean events. The underlying goal of this Starter Kit is to provide information, tools, and downloadable resources that agencies can use to develop or incorporate into a Lean continual improvement system.

Klamath Basin Report to Congress

Klamath Basin Report to CongressRoss and Associates supported the National Marine Fisheries Service, Southwest Regional Office to develop the first annual Report to Congress on activities within the Klamath River Basin. Ross and Associates assisted in identifying, writing, and compiling information related to salmon habitat restoration, monitoring, research, and population status. Ross & Associates developed the Report layout, created graphics, developed drafts for NMFS’ review, and created a file for GPO printing.

Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Fund Reports to Congress

2010 Report to Congress, Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery FundSince 2003, Ross & Associates has worked with NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service to develop a framework for measuring progress in use of Pacific Coast Salmon Recovery Fund (PCSRF) resources and to publish the annual Report to Congress that describes the PCSRF activities. This work has entailed working closely with NMFS and state and tribal grantees to develop a performance measurement framework that provides indicators and measures of progress in salmon recovery.

Endangered Species Act Reporting

Endangered Species Act ReportingRoss and Associates has provided support to the National Marine Fisheries Service, Office of Protected Resources to produce the first Endangered Species Act Section 6 Program Report. The Report provided a synopsis of the activities and programs developed by the 14 state grantees under the Protected Species Cooperative Conservation Grant Program that have direct conservation benefits for listed species, recently de-listed species, and candidate species.

Lean and Environment Initiative

The Lean and Environment ToolkitAs a national expert on the integration of Lean manufacturing and environmental considerations, Ross & Associates has provided research, tool development, and communications support to EPA’s Lean and Environment Initiative since its inception in 2003. Working with EPA’s Lean and environment partners, Ross & Associates has developed a series of “toolkit” publications that provide Lean practitioners with practical strategies for enhancing the environmental results of Lean methods
