Washington State Climate Action Team and Climate Advisory Team
Ross & Associates worked with the Washington Department of Ecology and Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development (CTED) to convene, facilitate, and provide strategic direction and policy analysis for the state’s Climate Action Team—and its predecessor, the Climate Advisory Team. These teams were charged with establishing a set of recommendations and action plans to meet statewide goals for greenhouse gas emissions reductions, clean energy jobs creation, and reduced dependence on foreign oil. Ross & Associates worked with the teams to develop recommendations for Ecology and CTED to recommend to the Governor.
As part of this work, Ross & Associates also supported the work of several sector-specific technical working groups by coordinating the facilitation and analytical efforts to develop mitigation strategies, and coordinated across the various workgroups. Ross & Associates facilitated four Implementation Working Groups formed to support the Climate Action Team as a fully integrated process. Ross & Associates also facilitated two Carbon Market Workgroups, formed to develop recommendations on how the forestry and agriculture sectors can voluntarily participate in a carbon market program.
